The "Rae-lo Word Blacklist"

So... you could say that words are basically my life. I spent the years 2005-2009 studying English at BYU and now have a degree in the very same. I write, edit, and podcast for a living. I spend my free time reading novels and marketing books. I have 4 blogs (yes, FOUR. I bet you didn't know that, did you? Do you feel like you've been missing out?) and I write in a journal regularly. I also spend a significant amount of time writing on other social media mediums (Facebook and Twitter) for both my personal and professional lives as well as reading and following numerous other personal and professional blogs. And sometimes, if I ever feel inspired enough (which used to happen A LOT more often a few years ago), I write poetry.
Not to mention my not-so-secret love for speaking in puns.
That said, over the years I have developed what a friend of mine now refers to as the "Raechel Blacklist" of words. These are words that cause me to squirm when I hear them and that I really could just do without. In fact, I think it'd be okay if we just blacked them out of the English Language for good.
The following are some of my blacklist words (in no particular order):

*penetrate
*firm
*moist (Unless you are talking about cake. That is the ONLY time it's acceptable because cake SHOULD be moist.)
*vacillate
*undulate
*devoid
*irregardless
*coddle
*snuggle
*pet (That one's for you, Kathryn)
*gingerly
*gyrate
*masticate
*panties

That's all I can think of off the top of my head. What words do YOU hate?

Just have three aside from your list:

*Literally
*Ridonculous (I can't think of a legitimate etymology for this word)
*Cheers (as a parting word. No thanks. Only acceptable uses are when you're actually raising glasses, or when you're about to drink the fat so your girlfriend will put away her correspondence)

i think "exacerbate" is an awkward word to say out loud. every time i've used the term i've thought "ugh, why?" so i've stopped using it.

I feel like I'm on a time limit... uh, um, I DON'T KNOW WHAT WORDS I DON'T LIKE! I'm sorry! What words do you love to use??? I can tell you those: nonchalant, ubiquitous, illustrate, platonic (I haven't used that in forever), facetious, futile, didactic, affable.... That's all i can think of right now. Anyway, I totally overuse most of these words because they are just fun to say (and my vocabulary is limited).
