Knee-jerk reaction is to shout at the top of my lungs that you shouldn't give up on indulging. (Yes, I did actually say "no!" out loud when I read it.)
Composed reaction: I understand your decision. It doesn't make the change suck any less, but it is necessary in the long run.
Maturity, I question whether it's over-rated on a daily basis.
