Tossing and turning
My mind has no peace
Hoping and praying
For an hour of sleep
With no sign of comfort
No matter how I try
I’m holding back tears
Inside my tired eyes
Through my anguish you call to me, Silver Angel
And invite me to your home
Your pleasant castle of ceramic white
That caters to me night after night
And as I lay there, motionless
Absorbing your amber gardens
At last I find tranquility
And even though you have no lips to speak
Your unspoken words give strength to a heart once weak
I stare at you in wonder, as my feet become your wings
And though your halo may not be gold,
It certainly brought warmth to my troubled soul.
You didn’t know that I was watching
But I saw the tears run down your silver cheeks
And I was touched that you would weep for me
I’ve never known such pure love as this
And the feeling is an odd but wonderful sense of bliss
I close my eyes
And I’m back in bed
And I search for a dream
With a mind that’s at rest
